Return behavior, as a vital part of the shopping experience, also serves as a key indicator for evaluating platform service quality, merchant management standards, and consumer experiences. This study mainly focuses on the return behavior of online shopping. Through the analysis of 24087 Tmall order data in China, the difference between weekday and weekend return behavior is revealed. It is found that the return probability on weekdays is higher than that on weekends, but this difference will be smaller, when the amount of online shopping is higher. The conclusion of this study not only promotes the in-depth development of the research on consumers’ return behavior, but also provides important practical inspirations for online sellers.
