This book has considered some of the potential implications of metaverse technology for the English and Welsh law on sexual offences. It is clear that there is much work to be done, both in relation to the material discussed here and the law more broadly. It has sought to provide an overview of the technology as it stands and—as far as possible—where it is going. This book will end with a call to recognise the positive benefits of technology and the need to develop regulatory and other legal mechanisms to ensure that such benefits are realised in a safe, equitable and sustainable way.
