Response of the Biosphere to Sea-level Change
摘要
Earth’s ever-changing land- and sea-scapes have played a key role in shaping the tapestry of life; and the dynamic interaction between sea-level (SL) fluctuations and biotic evolution is a fundamental aspect of Earth’s geological history. Cycles of transgressions and regressions of the sea have repeatedly redefined coastal margins, flooded continental interiors and exposed vast landmasses, profoundly influencing ecosystems and species distribution on Earth’s surface.
