Education and Policy Reform for Refugee and Displaced Children in Non-Western Contexts: An Introduction
摘要
The contributors to this volume consider refugee education, child/youth voice, and teacher education in light of forced migration and conflict displacement for various groups in a host of non-Western countries, including: Syrian refugees in Lebanon and Jordan; Ivorian youth refugees living in the Fetentaa refugee camp in Ghana; individuals from more than 20 countries in Kenya’s Kakuma refugee camp; young Rohingya women from Myanmar in refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh; Venezuelan migrants in Brazil and Colombia; and teacher education for displaced children in the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The chapters address strategic directions and recent shifts in education policy and practice to address global displacement and what educational provision looks like at local, regional, national and global levels.
