This edited volume is a careful selection of papers presented at the international conference, “Local and Global Impacts of the War in Ukraine,” which was held in Prague from the third to the fifth of June 2024. The in-person and virtual gathering of two dozen scholars from half a dozen countries was sponsored and supported by the Institute of Sociological Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, the Institute of Ethnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the European Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Travel support was provided by the U.S. Fulbright Foundation, and the meeting was endorsed by the Academy of Humanities and Sciences of the City University of New York.
