Meningotheliomatous Meningioma
摘要
In this case report, a 39-year-old female patient who complained of visual impairment in addition to recurrent atypical headaches localized around the right eye for several weeks was discussed. Cranial imaging was performed on the patient, who had decreased visual acuity in the right eye and visual field defects in every quadrant in the right eye. Cranial imaging revealed a 22 mm diameter, well-circumscribed, contrast-enhancing lesion in the sellar region. It was evaluated as an olfactory meningioma, which was thought to originate from the olfactory groove, and it was referred for neurosurgical intervention. After surgical resection, mass pathology was reported as meningotheliomatous meningioma, Grade 1. In this chapter, it is aimed to raise awareness about olfactory groove meningiomas, as they can be successfully treated and prevented from becoming life-threatening by a surgical procedure performed before the tumor reaches giant sizes. The importance of prioritizing appropriate imaging in terms of early detection of pathologies in headache and accompanying vision problems in the young female population is emphasized.
