Where does one begin when describing Kierkegaard’s writings? His corpus comprises both short and long texts, which often take the form of narratives. Yet, he also wrote exegetical treatises that verge on being sermons. The use of pseudonyms never concealed his authorship from the public as the pseudonymous works were what led to his notoriety, while the works written in his name were generally underappreciated. Even the fact that Kierkegaard chose to use multiple pseudonyms problematizes the issue of deciphering which thoughts and concepts represent him and which represent the pseudonymous author.
