As an Ilokano, one of the indigenous groups in the Philippines, I have learned to appreciate the beauty and struggle in life. I chose this remark while keeping in mind that many people are suffering as a result of capitalism and liberalism, as well as the ongoing effects of colonization. I shall present the accounts of my research on capitalism, which discusses forgiveness in this chapter. This demonstrates how, despite their disagreement with the gendered violence they experience, they insist on the need to forgive. I will explore how we can find forgiveness when there is violence. I will examine the moral necessity of forgiveness in the struggle of finding peace in the midst of pain and suffering.
