The Accredited Dosimetry Calibration Laboratories (ADCLs) are secondary laboratories in the USA that are directly traceable to the National Institutes of Standards and Technology (NIST). The history of the secondary laboratories in the USA is given. The laboratories maintain their calibration with high precision and accuracy. Generally, the precision is within 0.3% and the accuracy is within 0.7%. There are several traceable calibrations that are provided. All the calibrations are traceable back to NIST via a physical standard. The procedures to maintain the greatest precision are given.
