In recent decades, International relations have greatly evolved. However, analysts have been slow to adopt new approaches to study them. There are more and more multilateral meetings and the actors are no longer solely state-based. In order to achieve their objectives in international relations, States are increasingly disposed to adopt policies that are no longer limited to coercive means. Classical analytical approaches are no longer sufficient to explain the multiple facets of modern foreign policies. Just as they have taken on new forms, analytical grids must advance with them. We present an evolution of the concept introduced by Joseph Nye, soft power. This new analytical grid sheds light on a large part of international relations that has been left poorly explained, or even unexplained.

摘要
