Innovation in companies is the source of their competitive advantage in the market. In a dynamically changing world, it often determines a company’s very existence, which is why organizations seek solutions that will allow them to quickly and effectively create innovations. The literature identifies many types of innovation, but not all bring the same benefits, and breakthrough innovations that ensure long-term success for organizations are increasingly difficult to achieve. Lean Management can help companies focus on continuous improvement by eliminating waste, increasing efficiency, and minimizing costs. The effective implementation of Kaizen, Design Thinking, and Agile process management methodologies in a company will certainly help increase employee engagement and improve their innovative attitudes. The purpose of this article is to examine the continuous improvement methodology in light of existing knowledge and management practices that enable effective improvement in enterprise innovation. The study uses a narrative literature review and a conceptual design approach, demonstrating the role that continuous improvement plays in gradually building competitive advantage. Nevertheless, researchers note the need to further deepen empirical research on the innovation process in organizations.
