Myofunctional therapy (MT) as a sole treatment for OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea) offers a dual approach: curative for patients with an appropriate phenotype and preventive to avoid functional disorders causing anatomical imbalances that lead to OSA. OSA patients are “made, not born,” and this principle should guide all who aim to treat this condition. The preventive approach has already been discussed by various authors in this book. In this chapter, we will share our experience over the past eight years in treating OSA patients with MT.

摘要

Myofunctional therapy (MT) as a sole treatment for OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea) offers a dual approach: curative for patients with an appropriate phenotype and preventive to avoid functional disorders causing anatomical imbalances that lead to OSA. OSA patients are “made, not born,” and this principle should guide all who aim to treat this condition. The preventive approach has already been discussed by various authors in this book. In this chapter, we will share our experience over the past eight years in treating OSA patients with MT.
