Bibliometric Analysis in Coir: Recognition of Research Gap on Digitalization
摘要
In worldwide many MSME sectors started to evolve with digital advancements, the coir industry is also undergoing a transformation from traditional to emerging technologies and data-driven insights. This study investigates the adoption of Digital techniques of the coir industry through bibliometric analysis using Bibliometrix and Biblioshiny in R Studio, it is based on data collected from OpenAlex studies over the decades. By tracing research trends, identifying prominent authors, and by analysing thematic evolution, the study points out the uncovers key gaps on digital adoption in Coir. The findings indicate a predominant focus on economic, sustainability and production themes alongside technological evolution. Most cited articles emphasize international trade and industry expansion, yet discussions on automation and digital integration remain limited. Collaboration analysis highlights research dominance in India, Indonesia, and Israel, but with minimal international cooperation. Furthermore, citation network analysis reveals a concentration of research within specific clusters, emphasizing the need for broader knowledge dissemination. To bridge these gaps, strengthening industry-academia collaboration, enhancing policy support, and promoting targeted funding are essential for accelerating digital adoption. Future research should prioritize fostering global partnerships, interdisciplinary approaches, and sustainable technological innovations to optimize the coir supply chain and drive industry-wide transformation.
