Low student engagement in e-learning remains a challenge due to the lack of face-to-face interaction, making traditional engagement metrics difficult to apply. This study maps research trends, identifies leading contributors, analyzes document types, and examines key themes to enhance digital education strategies. A bibliometric analysis of 1606 Scopus-indexed publications using VOSviewer applies citation, co-citation, and keyword analysis to track trends and research impact. Findings show a surge in e-learning engagement research post-2020, driven by COVID-19. The US and UK lead, followed by Australia, China, and Malaysia. Conference papers and journal articles dominate, reflecting a preference for rapid dissemination. Key themes include e-learning, engagement, teaching, and curricula. However, gaps persist in qualitative research, regional comparisons, and classroom applications, highlighting areas for future exploration.
