This chapter introduces common flow measuring devices used in the fire protection industry. Hyrdostatic and hyrokinetic principles are used for the development of the devices as well as the hydraulic formulas to solve for flows mathematically. Bernoulli’s equation is used for the application of flow measuring devices such as venturi meters and orifice plate meters.
