The main objective of this study was to understand how the practical implementation of the SMED methodology impacts on company sustainability. To do so, it was necessary to analyze various articles, essentially review articles and case studies, reconciling the theoretical component with practical insights. To increase the specificity of the research, the PRISMA methodology was used. To maintain practical relevance of this work, the “Sustainabl3 SMED” framework was developed, as a result of the different ways of implementing SMED described by the authors in the articles and the respective most common impacts on companies’ sustainability, representing a working methodology that is distinct from common practices. The development of this framework made it possible to conclude the main objective of the project, since the main impacts of SMED on the company’s sustainability were identified. On the other hand, it provides a guideline for other companies to implement SMED in the future and then evaluate the gains in terms of sustainability.
