Modelling and Simulation of the Production Process Using Factory Design Utilities Software - Case Study
摘要
The research involved the analysis and simulation of a production process using Factory Design Utilities software. The main objective was to create a model that could accurately represent the real layout of the production facility, and then propose solutions to reduce inter-station transport and the associated time of the entire process. The research involved a detailed analysis of the current state of the processes, identifying key issues and proposing and testing alternative solutions. In the modelling process, particular attention was paid to the accurate representation of the spatial layout of the machines and material flow. Simulations included different variations in the location of machines and equipment, and their impact on process times was analysed. The simulation showed that changing the location of machines can lead to significant time savings. The most favourable variant reduced production times by almost 5 min per unit compared to the current state. These results confirm that appropriate machine placement can significantly improve the efficiency of a production facility. The use of modelling and simulation software makes it possible to accurately plan and analyse production processes, resulting in a reduction in operating costs. The use of tools such as Factory Design Utilities allows for an accurate representation of reality in the production model, enabling process planning and optimisation. This is particularly important in the context of innovating in Industry 4.0. Research has confirmed that the use of advanced tools for modelling and simulating manufacturing processes can significantly improve the process without the need for physical testing.
