The article is devoted to defining the role and areas of cooperation among BRICS in the field of preservation of intangible cultural heritage in its correlation to international agenda. An analysis of recent documents and materials of the BRICS summits and meeting clearly demonstrates a strong interest in deepening cooperation in this area. The article provides an overview of the diverse heritage of the BRICS countries and examines national approaches to its preservation and promotion. The authors identify the features of the collaboration among the BRICS countries in the field of safeguarding intangible cultural heritage and analyze the main challenges related to the development of collective measures to preserve intangible cultural heritage.
