This paper analyses the measures which SwitzerlandSwitzerland is planning and implementing to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs) 16 and 17Sustainable development goals 16 and 17 until 2030, as well as well as the progress Switzerland has already made towards achieving these goals. The study identifies three SDG targets that are crucial in the Swiss context: 16.7—‘Ensure responsible decision-makingResponsible decision-making by representative bodies at all levels with the participation of all sectors of society’, 17.14 SDG ‘PolicyPolicy coherencePolicy coherence’ and 17.16 ‘Strengthen global partnerships’. On the basis of a case study (Switzerland), it is shown that this country has developed strategies to implement SDGs 16 and 17Sustainable development goals 16 and 17, as well as appropriate monitoring and evaluation methods for assessing impact. Analyses of the SDGs targets 16.7, 17.14 and 17.16 show that there is potential for improvement in the progress and achievement of these targets. This article contributes to addressing research gaps in analysing Switzerland's efforts to achieve SDGs 16.7, 17.14 und 17.16. Understanding of current progress towards SDG 16 and SDG 17 in Switzerland will improve if these gaps are minimised or, at best, eliminated. Some questions about the effectiveness of SDGs 16.7, 17.14 and 17.16 in SwitzerlandSwitzerland are opened up. These questions can serve as a starting point for further research.
