Setting the Scene: Matter, Senses, and the More-Than-Human in Photographic Practice
摘要
This chapter introduces the conceptual and methodological foundations of the project, challenging the dominant emphasis on the photograph as image. It outlines the rationale for shifting attention towards the sensory, material, and more-than-human dimensions of photographic making, particularly in commercial laboratory and manufacturing settings. By critically engaging with post-humanist theory and reframing Barthes’ triadic model, the chapter lays the groundwork for an expanded definition of photographic practice that includes human and non-human agencies, material interactions, and aesthetic events.
