Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential for re-shaping the construction industry, improving decision-making, automation, and efficiency. However, AI adoption remains largely at the proof of concept level, especially for small companies due to lack of knowledge of possible applications and clear use cases. This study wants to contribute to address this gap by analyzing LinkedIn posts citing AI or its subfields, published by leading construction firms. The research used web scraping techniques and python libraries to create a dataset of 3.602 posts published between June 2023 and June 2024. Six dominant AI themes in construction have been identified: research initiatives, AI and changes in the job force, sustainability, site monitoring, predictive maintenance, and emerging AI technologies. This research contributes to the current understanding of AI implementation in the construction life cycle, providing an overview of AI applications and use cases based on industry-created social media content, and underscores the potential of social media analytics as a tool for tracking technological adoption trends.

摘要
