Manufacturing companies, particularly in non-road mobile machinery (NRMM), face challenges in adopting advanced service-based business models such as pay-per-use (PPU). This research develops and validates a maturity model to assess PPU maturity in NRMM manufacturing (NRMMM). A literature review identifies an existing maturity model, which is adapted through theoretical analysis and integration of relevant dimensions and capabilities. The model is evaluated through workshops and interviews, evaluating the maturity model’s usability, applicability, and limitations. This study contributes to NRMMM servitization efforts by (1) developing a maturity model for an underexplored domain, (2) testing and preliminarily validating the developed model in an NRMMM context that differs substantially from the original context of installed machinery. Practically, the model supports PPU adoption in NRMMM.

摘要
