Comparative Analysis of Serial-Parallel vs. Parallel-Serial MOSFET Configurations for Battery Management Systems
摘要
With the increasing prominence of new energy sources, lithium-ion batteries have assumed an essential element in powering modern technologies. A critical component within these batteries is the MOSFET, which plays a key role in the charge and discharge control circuits that ensure efficient and safe operation. In the industry, two common MOSFET-based circuit designs are widely used. Although both configurations are effective, their differences in structure and operation may influence the overall performance. To address these, in this paper, we aim to evaluate the two circuit configurations, i.e., in Serial-Parallel and Parallel-Serial, and compare them to analyze their impact on battery performance and reliability. In specific, we consider different settings in both configurations, and the simulation results demonstrate that the Parallel-Serial configuration offers enhanced reliability compared to the Serial-Parallel configuration for charge and discharge control.
