This study examines the uptake and deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for media content generation at Iraqi satellite TV channels. Given the fast pace of the media industry, which has witnessed rapid digital transformation, the study wants to evaluate how AI is being used for editing, graphics, news production, translation, data analysis and audience engagement. The study surveyed media professionals working on AI-related projects. The sample size was 45, and the results were mixed: the use of AI was significant in automatic language correction, photography, news editing and chatbot. The main advantages for AI adoption were time- and effort-saving, audience targeting, the need to follow technology trends and content production improvement. Yet, some significant obstacles; for instance, lack of competence, tenuous link to job roles, and reliance on generic ways were also recognized. The findings of this study suggest that, although AI tools are becoming increasingly more known and implemented, there are still limited training and institutional strategies for their more widespread use. Findings suggest an increase in AI based training, the development of ethical guidance, cooperation with technology companies, and incorporation of AI as part of journalist daily tasks to improve the quality, accuracy and better serve those who use digital media
