Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing the face of the journalism world, redefining how news is collected, produced, and delivered. This research seeks to investigate the extent of utilizing AI in managing newsrooms in the news produced in Iraqi satellite channels wither the extent of its benefits and the challenges it imports. Even as media around the world increasingly embrace the potential of AI applications, Iraqi newsrooms are confronting a variety of challenges, from a relative lack of technical knowledge to infrastructure shortcomings to trepidation around the impact on journalistic employment and editorial independence, when it comes to AI. The study aims to answer the core question: How do Iraqi satellite channels use artificial intelligence in newsrooms and how does it affect journalistic practice. Employing a descriptive analytical method, the research utilizes interviews, field observations, and the perspectives of journalists and newsroom managers to offer a grounded level of current AI use. It also looks at newsroom setups, automated workflows using AI for news production and in-use tools. The research wants to offer a roadmap for AI integration, and practical recommendations for Iraqi media institutions. These could be investing in journalist training, boosting digital infrastructure and building relationships with AI experts. Lastly, it is hoped that the research reinforces how AI may be used to improve news quality, facilitate newsroom processes, and transform journalism in Iraq.
