This paper seeks to investigate how chosen Iraqi news websites cover the subject of AI in propaganda journalism. The types of journalist formats, information sources, and the method of visual emphasis as well as the primary goals of the AI content are discussed. This was a descriptive analytic study with the analysis of a purposive sample taken from three main sites over a given period. Data gathering was aimed at recognizing the frequencies and types of journalistic genres, sources, and visuals in each issue. Results showed a significant predominance of news materials, where information trackers accounted for a total of 60.5% of information in total, and opinion journalism, articles and investigations, kept marginal, live event pictures were featured in 47.7% of the visual coverage, with few multimedia elements. Most of the news stemmed from foreign news agencies (53.2%) but the Iraq News Agency heavily relied on internal correspondents (35%). The cited references were official governmental sources in 45.8%. There was some balance of treatment objectives with the highest being introducing participants to novel technologies (20.1%) and increasing interest and uptake of AI activity (19.2%). In general, that study reveals a structured, though arguably conventional, AI journalism style, key lacunas being multimedia use and diversity in opinion.

摘要
