This chapter shares best practices for advancing Ocean Literacy in formal education through transdisciplinary approaches that prioritize student agency. Drawing on the example of a student-led theater production created and performed by third to fifth-grade students (ages 9–12), the chapter explores how Ocean Literacy can transcend the traditional boundaries of science education and permeate an entire school culture. Emphasizing a cultural shift toward a more Ocean-connected society, the chapter highlights the intentional integration of Challenge 10: Restore Society’s Relationship with the Ocean across all elements of the production. Key factors contributing to the project’s success include transdisciplinary learning, authentic stakeholder involvement, social responsibility, the creative process, soft skills development, and a strong sense of legacy. The chapter illustrates how a holistic, experiential approach—guided by student voice and agency—can create meaningful educational experiences that foster lasting connections between students and the Ocean.

摘要
