From Tractatus to Philosophical Investigations
摘要
There is a plethora of works exploring the relatedness and divergences between the early and the later Wittgenstein. Below we shall assess their connections and distinctions in light of our findings in the first two Parts of the book. From that standpoint, we shall see that the philosophy of the later Wittgenstein didn’t at bottom stand at odds with that of the early Wittgenstein. Rather, previously ignored or unrecognized sides of Wittgenstein’s philosophy come into view when we approach the Tractatus and the Philosophical Investigations as the work of one Wittgenstein. Among other things, this approach brings to light the method Wittgenstein followed in his investigations, or the skill he used when he treated philosophical problems.
