An Assessment of Wind Energy Potential as a Power Generation Source in Algeria
摘要
The present study provides a detailed investigation of wind energy, covering global patterns and initiatives, with a special emphasis on the unique conditions of Algeria as a case study. This analysis includes a comprehensive examination of the wind energy legislative framework, focusing on earlier studies on Algeria. It also evaluates the potential of wind energy within the context of differences in wind speed across different geographical regions. This work comprehensively examines the obstacles and opportunities associated with implementing wind energy, drawing upon a rigorous comparison with other forms of renewable energy. Addressing the significant issues encountered by wind energy, encompassing complex technological hurdles and a complicated network of current regulations. A full analysis of the environmental effects, including positive and negative factors, stresses the importance of getting past these problems so that Algeria’s energy system can easily incorporate wind energy. Furthermore, an examination of distinct wind energy projects in Algeria was reported, specifically focusing on the Adrar and In Salah wind farms, besides the Hassi R’Mel Integrated solar-wind farms as a hybrid energy plan. Through assessments, useful insights may be obtained into the complexities of project implementation, the problems encountered, and the lessons learned. Providing an analysis contributes to the academic discussion on wind energy development in Algeria by integrating existing information and highlighting relevant case studies. Finally, presenting practical suggestions specifically designed to provide information and guidance for future initiatives in the field of renewable energy.
