Orthopedic trauma surgery has consistently evolved with technological advancements, deriving substantial benefits from each wave of industrial innovation. The development of steam-powered mechanical manufacturing in the nineteenth century was a foundational period for the production of more evolved surgical tools, while the late twentieth century saw exponential growth with the advent of mass-produced implants and diagnostic devices made possible by X-ray imaging and the evolving processing power of computers.
