Constitutional Framework for Provisional Self-Government in Kosovo
摘要
This chapter explores the role of the U.S. in accelerating Kosovo’s path to independence and shaping its constitutional framework, heavily influenced by the U.S. Constitution. It highlights key milestones such as the declaration of independence, the institutionalization of minority rights, and the demilitarization process. Kosovo’s strong desire to establish its own military, was rejected by the U.S. and its allies. However, amid geopolitical shifts and persistent threat from Serbia, the U.S. has now expressed its support on KSF transformation into military. The chapter offers insight into the constitutional and political dimensions of Kosovo’s provisional self-government within the broader evolving U.S. role.
