Effect of Heavy Metals on Plant Physiological Attributes
摘要
Heavy metals are serious threat for plants. Heavy metals, both essential and non-essential, can negatively impact flora development as well as maturation even at low intensity. Heavy Metals have damaging effects on plant physiology, accumulating in soil and water, causing oxidative stress, disrupting nutrient uptake, and damaging plant cells. This leads to reduced crop yields, impaired plant development, and compromised ecosystem health. The physiological effects of HMs on plants are far-reaching, impacting growth, photosynthesis, and antioxidant systems. The harmful effects of heavy metals on plant physiology are comprehensively overviewed, highlighting the need for strategies to prevent HMs contamination and promote sustainable agriculture practices. Overall, this work emphasizes the importance of understanding the impact of HMs on plant physiology to ensure sustainable agriculture and ecosystem health.
