Although platform RF interference, a common cause of RF desense, is not a classical EMC problem—since it deals with electromagnetic coupling within an electronic system—we dedicate Chap. 15 to the simulation of RF interference, as it is becoming an increasingly significant concern in the design of modern electronic systems. At the beginning of the chapter, we introduce RF transmitter and receiver models used to calculate the so-called EMI margin, which helps characterize the severity of an RF interference event. This methodology is then applied in an application example, where we analyze the coupling from a flexible PCB into a WiFi antenna.

摘要

Although platform RF interference, a common cause of RF desense, is not a classical EMC problem—since it deals with electromagnetic coupling within an electronic system—we dedicate Chap. 15 to the simulation of RF interference, as it is becoming an increasingly significant concern in the design of modern electronic systems. At the beginning of the chapter, we introduce RF transmitter and receiver models used to calculate the so-called EMI margin, which helps characterize the severity of an RF interference event. This methodology is then applied in an application example, where we analyze the coupling from a flexible PCB into a WiFi antenna.
