The ageing population represents a growing challenge for health systems worldwide, with increased demand for integrated, person-centred care of older adults. This chapter explores the strategic role of interprofessional education (IPE) in preparing a resilient health workforce capable of addressing complex geriatric needs. Building on theoretical and empirical foundations, it highlights how IPE fosters collaborative competencies essential for interdisciplinary care. Key competency frameworks and European models for frailty and geriatric care to guide curriculum design and workforce planning are systematically discussed. This chapter introduces practical methodologies for assessing readiness and educational needs. Furthermore, it outlines pedagogical strategies aligned with learner progression and healthcare contexts, emphasizing experiential learning, reflective practice, and interprofessional identity formation. Through case studies, the paper illustrates real-world applications of IPE in geriatric settings, demonstrating improved teamwork and other collaborative outcomes. The findings underscore that embedding IPE into educational and institutional structures is not only a pedagogical priority but a systemic necessity to ensure equitable, high-quality care for older adults.

摘要
