The objective of this research was to analyze the effectiveness of the protection measures implemented to confront gender violence and its impact on the safety of the victims. The methodology used was a systematic review, focusing on studies that address the implementation and compliance of protection measures in contexts of gender violence, through analysis of secondary sources in the following databases: Scopus, Scielo, and Redalyc. The Prisma protocol was used. In summary, the results indicated that, although protection measures are fundamental, their effectiveness is compromised by the lack of compliance and adequate monitoring. Consequently, regional disparities were observed in the implementation of these measures, as well as the need for an interdisciplinary approach that includes gender-sensitive education and technological tools to improve both prevention and monitoring of protection measures. Regarding the conclusions, the study highlighted the importance of guaranteeing the effective implementation of protection measures and the need for public policies that promote gender equality and the prevention of violence.
