Digital Profile of the Tourist in Tabasco: Habits, Preferences, and Use of Technologies in the Travel Experience
摘要
This article explores the digital profile of tourists in the state of Tabasco, Mexico, based on the results obtained through a survey applied to 400 visitors. The research, of a quantitative nature, relies on the use of tools such as Tableau Public and the Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) methodology to identify behavioral patterns in the use of technologies before, during, and after the trip. The findings show that, although there is a significant presence of tourists with a high level of education and experience in the use of digital applications, there are still shortcomings in local technological infrastructure, as well as in the dissemination of technology-oriented tools for tourism. Based on these results, strategic proposals are presented supported by recent academic literature and best practices from smart tourist destinations to improve the visitor’s digital experience and strengthen the state’s tourism offering.
