Education is an important pillar for the development of society, which is why it is necessary to train students capable of facing the different demands of a globalized world. New technologies have favored the development of interactive and multimedia content that influences the teaching-learning process of university students; higher education institutions have resources and academic planning that contribute to knowledge development. The use of interactive and multimedia content is essential to improve the transmission and understanding of academic message, its usefulness and impact allow the development of different educational scenarios that are difficult to replicate through books, text or any other traditional educational resource. The new generation of students exhibits considerable mastery of new technologies, which is why their attention is directed toward educational resources that stimulate their senses, videos, audios, presentations, images, and other innovative elements, such as virtual simulations, are the main visual and auditory content that allows them to develop their potential and cognitive capacity, for this reason, the present study aims to review the influence of interactive and multimedia content on the teaching-learning process of university students, a documentary and comparative research approach is chosen to investigate relevant information that enables the generation of new knowledge.
