The digital paradigm leverages the power of collaboration and collective intelligence to drive the development of innovative entrepreneurial ventures. Within this context, the concept of Digital Entrepreneurial Ecosystems (DEEs) has emerged as a robust framework, integrating digital entrepreneurship into traditional entrepreneurial ecosystems to create dynamic and supportive environments. Governance structures play a crucial role in these ecosystems by fostering interaction, collaboration, and innovation, ultimately enhancing ecosystem performance. By establishing rules and guiding decision-making processes, they aim to ensure effective coordination among actors while promoting trust and transparency to leverage the advantages of digital transformation. Despite the growing significance of DEEs, there remains a critical gap in understanding how different governance structures influence DEE outcomes. This study addresses this gap through a Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA). QCA merges qualitative and quantitative data to enable the analytical evaluation of distinct cases, yielding comparative outcomes. The research focuses on Italian DEEs, characterized by diverse governance structures. In particular, it investigates the interaction between governance attributes, regulatory mechanisms, and ecosystem outcomes, uncovering how governance structures impact strategic decision-making and strategy development. The findings offer an overview of the critical elements that affect ecosystem efficiency and resilience.

摘要
