Maria Lyra’s Theory of Abbreviation: Creating Moments of Stability in the Flux of Development
摘要
Maria Lyra’s basic contribution to developmental science is her Theory of Abbreviation which is outlined and explained in this chapter. Carefully based on observational studies of mother–infant interaction this theory has built a historical bridge from the notion of apperception to that of abbreviation. It is an example of new ways of thinking in developmental psychology.
