“It Was Literally Unbelievable to Me That This Was Possible”: Oral History Interviews with Parents in the Covid-19 Pandemic

This chapter provides background and context to the research undertaken, defining the parameters of the project and its aims and setting out reflections on the group of parents interviewed. The chapter positions the research within the growing body of literature examining oral history in times of crisis and literature on the history of emotions and discusses the oral history methodology adopted for this project, incorporating reflections on remote interviewing and its impact on the dynamics of the interview process and the testimonies collected.
