The construction industry in Ghana plays a pivotal role in the nation’s economic growth, contributing significantly to infrastructure development and employment. However, the industry faces several challenges that hinder project delivery, including delays, cost overruns, and quality issues. This study assesses the critical success factors that influence project delivery in the Ghanaian construction sector, aiming to identify the key determinants of successful project outcomes. The research objectives focused on identifying the characteristics of successful construction projects, the factors that contribute to project success, and the impact of these factors on project delivery and sustainability. A mono-method approach was employed, utilising quantitative data from surveys. Data was gathered from a sample of stakeholders across various construction projects in Ghana, including project managers, contractors, and clients. The analysis revealed that factors such as top-management support, project manager competence, stakeholder engagement, and effective financial management are crucial for successful project delivery. Additionally, the study found that sustainability practices are increasingly becoming essential for long-term project success. The findings suggest that improving these critical success factors can significantly enhance project delivery outcomes in the Ghanaian construction industry. The study concludes with recommendations for industry practitioners and policymakers to focus on strengthening management capabilities, fostering stakeholder collaboration, and integrating sustainability into construction practices. Future research should explore the implementation of these success factors in different contexts within the Ghanaian construction industry to further validate the findings.
