This paper explores the transformative opportunities that ambient intelligent environments (AmIEs) offer for facility management (FM) in emerging economies, with a focus on Nigeria. It discusses how AmIE technologies such as IoT, artificial intelligence, and context-aware systems can address pressing challenges in energy efficiency, infrastructure maintenance, urban planning, and sustainability. The study identifies cost-effective and scalable deployment strategies suitable for Nigeria's socioeconomic context and outlines potential benefits in public sector service delivery, job creation, and climate resilience.
