The Cognitive-Behavioral Approach in Teletherapy
摘要
Cognitive-behavioral therapies (CBTs) are first-choice treatments for many mental disorders, employed in a diverse set of contexts worldwide. With the expansion of availability and use of information communication technologies, CBTs are increasingly delivered remotely through video calls, websites, and apps, broadening and facilitating access to evidence-based psychotherapy. In the present chapter, we introduce the reader to the cognitive-behavioral approach to telepsychotherapy, review its evidence base, and present important principles and guidelines for its implementation. We highlight challenges and opportunities that arise from the real-world application of cognitive-behavioral telepsychotherapy, and finish by presenting a case example to illustrate the main aspects of CBT as a telepsychotherapy.
