Transdiagnostic Digital Interventions for Emotional, Traumatic and Stress-Related Disorders in Latin America
摘要
This chapter explores the evolution and current state of digital mental health interventions in Latin America, focusing on the use of Internet-delivered, transdiagnostic treatments for emotional, traumatic, and stress-related disorders. The integration of information and communication technologies into psychological therapy has opened new avenues for addressing mental health needs in regions with limited access to traditional services. The discussion highlights the unique challenges and opportunities for implementing these interventions in Latin America, emphasizing the importance of cultural adaptation and feasibility studies. Through the analysis of various case studies, including randomized controlled trials in Argentina, Ecuador, and Mexico, the chapter demonstrates the potential effectiveness of transdiagnostic interventions in reducing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress. However, the chapter also addresses barriers to widespread implementation, such as high dropout rates, the side effects of Internet-delivered transdiagnostic treatments, and the need for clinician guidance. This book chapter also presents a perspective on the future directions of transdiagnostic treatments, highlighting how artificial intelligence and Natural Language Processing may enhance engagement and accessibility, ultimately paving the way for more effective and scalable mental health solutions in the region.
