Web-based psychological interventions have emerged as an effective and accessible means of treating body image and weight-related disorders. These mental health conditions, which include body dissatisfaction, disordered eating, and obesity-related psychological distress, are increasingly prevalent in modern society due to heightened media exposure and cultural beauty ideals. This chapter explores the history, theoretical foundations, and therapeutic approaches of online interventions. Specific web-based platforms are also highlighted for their impact on reducing disordered eating and promoting body acceptance. Although these interventions show promising results, they also face challenges that are addressed in this chapter. Finally, future directions, including emerging technologies such as virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and personalized medicine, are discussed as ways to enhance web-based treatments. However, ethical concerns regarding data privacy and informed consent remain significant and are also addressed.
