Internet Interventions for Social Anxiety Among College Students
摘要
College students often face multiple stressors, which can be a threat to their mental health. Internet interventions are a promising alternative for treating mental health disorders, and Social Anxiety (SA) is one of the most highly prevalent among college students. This chapter details the evidence-based internet interventions in the literature focused on Social Anxiety (SA) among college students. Several therapeutic models and intervention protocols are displayed, such as second and third-wave Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies (CBT)–iCBT approaches. Research evidence highlights that these internet interventions can significantly reduce SA and other related mental health symptoms, such as depression. Challenges in implementing internet interventions (e.g., high dropout rates) and future directions are also addressed.
