Cardioembolic stroke is a type of ischemic stroke that arises from embolic material originating from the heart. It constitutes a significant proportion of ischemic strokes and is associated with high morbidity and mortality rates. This chapter provides an in-depth examination of the etiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnostic approaches, and treatment modalities of cardiogenic stroke.
