There are four basic ion acceleration mechanisms in relativistic laser plasma. they are the Coulomb explosion, when almost all electrons are blowed out from the target by the laser radiation, the Target Normal Sheath Acceleration mechanism the electric charge separation electric field generated on the target surface by hot electrons, the Magnetic Vortex acceleration mechanism arizes due to the self-generated magnetic field, and the most efficient mechanism of the ion acceleration by radiation pressure of the laser light.
