摘要

This chapter is devoted to a complete proof of the so-called optimality results of Kempf (Ann. Math. 108(2):299–316, 1978), Rousseau (C.R.A.S. 286:247–250, 1978) and Hesselink (J. Reine Angew. Math. 303/304:74–96, 1978), which give a strengthening of the Hilbert-Mumford Theorem 3.3.2 and form a central plank of our programme of applying geometry to the theory of G-complete reducibility.
