This chapter reviews the application of Augmented Reality (AR) in Religious Education (RE) of Greek primary schools in an effort to advance student engagement, understanding, and retention. Applying mixed-methods approach with structured interviews and pre-post intervention comparisons, results showed that AR has been effective in converting abstract religious notions into interactive, concrete ones. Underpinned by constructivist and experiential learning theories, this study focused on the dimensions of collaboration and reflection. Limitations are addressed alongside practical recommendations for educators and policymakers. The findings highlight AR’s potential to modernize RE, blending tradition and innovation while providing actionable strategies for curriculum integration.
